The Chania Town News is heavily illustrated with 167 impressionistic black-and-white photographs, and has been printed on glossy paper in the large 8-1/2 x 11" landscape format. The edition on sale in Crete itself has been very well received among both Cretans and visitors alike, and has garnered glowing reviews.

Douglas Bullis is home-based somewhere between Hong Kong and India, depending on the book he's working on. He has published some 23 titles over the last 25 years, most of which are about contemporary Asian economic affairs, art, and religion. Those in print are listed on Amazon.com.

The Chania Town News is his first travel-experience book. It turned out to be so much fun that he is now working on a similar book about three all but undiscovered fishing villages on France's Mediterranean coast.
