Fr. Otto A. Koltzenburg was born in the town, Rohr, in the Eifel-region in Germany in 1950. This village was first mentioned in documents dating back over 1,000 years ago when the town received its spiritual and political guidance from the Benedictine Abbey of Pruem. The Patron Saint of the village is St. Wendelin, a hermit of the Middle Ages. Through centuries the population of this town remained faithful to the religious customs and to the Catholic Faith. Fr. Otto was happy to grow up in this strong traditional environment with his three brothers. He studied Theology in Wuerzburg and was ordained to the Catholic Priesthood in Spokane, WA in 1981.
