From the Author

I started writing down some ‘cat-words’--- (words that include some version of ‘cat’)----and couldn’t believe how many there were. Then, I got the idea of playing a game of ‘catch as catch can’ with the ‘cat-words’---guessing from a picture and a ‘catchy’ phrase. It was so much fun I decided to share it by writing this book.

The book evolved to include stories about good times I have had with my own cats, Neeka and Kali; and stories sent to me by cat lovers around the world about the cats they live with and love. Most of the ‘cat tales’ in this book are from people I met through the Internet on sites dedicated to cat lovers----stories that show their admiration and respect for the cats they are privileged to call their ‘own’.

So many of the people who sent me ‘cat tales’ tell me their cats have touched their lives in wonderful and mysterious ways. What surprised me in reading their stories is how similarly people in the United States and in ‘foreign’ countries sound, when they describe what they love about their cats.

It almost makes me think we should eliminate the word ‘foreign’ from our language. As you read these stories, I think you will agree that people abroad----in ‘foreign’ or far off countries----sound almost like your or my neighbors down the block, when they tell their cats’ stories and describe the difference their cats have made in their lives.

It truly seems that no matter who you are or where you live---life is so much richer and more fun when it is shared with a cat!

It is in that spirit that I offer you this international Cationary!
