About the Author

Myra J. Linden was a high school and college English teacher for over 35 years and has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement by the National Council of Teachers of English. She is the author of such innovative books as Why Johnny Can't Write and Keys to Quick Writing Skills, which explore methods of modern writing instruction. In addition to her graduate degrees in English, she also has an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Dominican University.

Brad Frieswyk is an educational consultant who specializes in reading and writing improvement. He has worked at schools in Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, and British Columbia and has experience testing students and diagnosing problems, making curriculum recommendations, and coaching teachers in the classroom.

Arthur Whimbey has authored such cutting edge books as Intelligence Can Be Taught, Mastering Reading Through Reasoning, and Analyze Organize Write. He is also the innovator of such instructional approaches as Thinking Aloud Problem Solving (TAPS), which has a very successful track record with Project SOAR of Xavier University in Louisiana.
