A Boy Just Like Him
Some Middle Eastern boy celebrates The attack on this mighty state While over here a boy just like him Was doomed by the icy hand of fate
And I can t seem to understand How he s so full of spite For a little boy just like him With no mommy tonight
Dedicated to all little boys (and girls) just like him everywhere.

I Am Five Years Old
I am five years old and this is my first time on a plane. I am very excited and can hardly sit still. I count to myself before take off 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. We are going up, up, and away! I am pressed to my seat and now I have to sit still. WOW! I can see out the window and there are clouds and beneath them streets and cars.
Then men stand up. I wonder what they are doing so I will ask mommy. Mommy what are the funny men doing with the boo-boo knives? She replies, I don t know just put Mr. Blankie over yourself. I want to ask why but I do as mommy says and keep quiet. All of a sudden I hear a lady scream. Then others start screaming. I hear a funny language and I can no longer keep Mr. Blankie over me. The flight lady s neck is all red and the men are trying to get into where the flyers of the plane sit. They get in and I hear added screaming.
I ask mommy what s going on. She is crying. We are not going to California, she says instead we ll go to heaven. I don t want to go to heaven, I say with tears beginning to fill my eyes. I wanna see grandma and grandpa. But Heaven is a wonderful place, she interrupted. Grandma and grandpa will come to see you there very soon. Why are we going to heaven, people only go to heaven when they die. Smoke is filling the window, mommy gives me a kiss and
Dedicated to those who have moved on and those left behind.

M&M s
Prejudice words, Racist slurs, To everyone who cares, These phrases hurt. People don t realize, That we are all the same, That we are all kind of, Like M&M s in a way. We are all alike, No matter if we are Chinese, Mexican, Black or White. Just like M&M s, They are also all the same, The only thing that s different, Is their outer frame. Some of them are red, A couple blue or green, Some are yellow, Brown, orange, Or even a rare few, Are in between. But after you take a bite, You know that it s true, They all taste the same, Red, yellow, or blue. Just like the world s people, Our candy coated skin, Is the only thing covering, Our similar within.
