About the Author

TJ Schier is the President of SMART Restaurant Group and a long-time industry consultant and speaker. He has authored numerous books on restaurant service and operations (including the 2012 release SMART Restaurant Guide to Effective Food Service Operations) and motivating today's generation (Send Flowers to the Living!). In addition to speaking at dozens of manager and franchise conferences each year, he leads the SMART Restaurant Group which owns over a dozen high-performing fast casual restaurants in Texas. Albert Houpy is a long-time restaurant industry veteran with vast multi-unit operational skills as well as formerly owning his own Hospitality Recruitment company. He is currently the Director of Operations for SMART Restaurant Group overseeing the people development and operational excellence of the fast-growing group.
