This one-of-a-kind book shows every GOALKEEPER training session, practice and drill of the New England Revolution conducted by assistant/goalkeeper coach, John Murphy, from their 2002 season when they reached the MLS Cup Championship game. The book starts with the usual two-a-day pre-season sessions, including the pre-season trips to Brazil and Portugal. It then continues with the regular season training and concludes with training sessions from the post-season and run up to the championship game. Inside you will find observations of nine months of training sessions accompanied with easy-to-read diagrams of every drill and exercise. Also included is a 12-month calendar showing the various levels and intensity of the training depending on the stage of the season, time of year, etc. As well as the GK sessions, there are many 'team' training sessions conducted by Liverpool legend and Rev's Head Coach, Steve Nicol where the goalkeepers are an integral part of the teams' sessions.

About the Author

John Murphy has coached at the collegiate level, in Major League Soccer and with pro teams in Scotland. Murphy holds a U.S. Soccer A License, an A License from the Scottish Football Association, an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and an English Football Association A Goalkeeper Coaching Badge. He has coached a number of international goalkeepers from Bolivia, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Mexico on an individual level, including U.S. World Cup veterans Juergen Sommer and Brad Friedel.
