Synopsis
From the ruins of Pompeii and from the Indian Kama Sutra we have ample evidence of a long and abiding artistic fascination with sex. Both of these survive as examples of high art, and yet they were as erotic as the media and artistic styles of the time permitted. Modern cinematography and videography permit artistic sexual expression undreamed of by the ancients. But only a liberated and artful approach to pornography can produce this result. Which is the author's project. Pornography is a legal-puritanical concept, meant to demean. Some producers and viewers have the word and prefer clumsy euphemism like adult entertainment. But just as the word queer has been appropriated with affection and defiance by homosexuals, so might "pornography" be embraced - and then artfully cultivated - by the sexually intimidated everywhere.
