In Quiet Courage: The definitive account of Flight 93 and its aftermath, Dr. Kashurba uses first-person accounts to describe how a community in rural America came together to respond to the first battle of the war on terrorism. Since 9/11, history continues to unfold. Quiet Courage provides up-to-date accounts from Flight 93 families and citizens of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, committed to establishing a permanent memorial to the heroes of Flight 93. Overlying these first-hand accounts are the details of what occurred onboard UAL 93, the 9/11 plot and the ongoing investigations that are still front-page news. This is an American story using American voices showing American values at their best.

I had the great honor and privilege to lend some small bit of support to a group of incredibly strong and wonderful people, the families of Flight 93. Despite all of their grief, amidst the apprehension of seeing the crash site that claimed the lives of their loved ones, they kept repeating the mantra, "I hope the people here know how much we appreciate what they've done."
At the same time, many Somerset County residents expressed to me their profound gratitude towards the heroes for giving their lives to prevent an even greater tragedy. As a father of three children attending school less than sixty seconds airtime from the crash, I understand that feeling.
Courage After the Crash (SAJ Publishing, 2002) was a memorial to the courage of the heroes and the strength of their families. Additionally, the book was a thank you to all of the thousands of people who, in ways big and small, helped in the aftermath of the crash Quiet Courage: The definitive account of Flight 93 and its aftermath combines the oral histories of Courage After the Crash with those recorded through 2006. To that, I have added details of the 9/11 plot and what occurred on Flight 93. I feel that it is important to have the saga of Flight 93, from the plot to the memorial, all in one book.
This will help readers understand the continuing courageous acts of forty ordinary people.
