About the Author:
Born in Miami, Florida, Angela is a playwright and author who grew up in South Dade, the daughter of a Pentecostal minister. She has described her childhood as growing up in a world of endless possibilities limited only by self. Angela acknowledges that her inspiration to write stems from and incorporates the sights, sounds and experiences of her father's small church. I'm convinced that we are a product of our environment, it's just that mine incorporated faith and fantasy. Be on the lookout for some of her other titles which include: Heart of a Stranger, Descent Into Desire, The Love of Angels and Kings, For the Love of a Queen, Return of the Prophetess, Gloryland and Hunt for Desire.

Excellent by 305librarian May 08, 2009: As a children's librarian, we are trained to be well-versed in children's literature - from toddler books to young adult novels. Every now and then, a book comes along -- like this one -- that deserves to be on the shelves of every library. The sign of a great children's book is when they ask to hear the story again. And again. As is the case with this wonderful story by Angela Lane. I give this book 5-stars. --Miami Dade County Public Library

The illustrations are incredible; they flow with the story. My friend and her husband read it to their son and they all love it. I would love to read more children's stories from this author.
