Howard E. Hinman was part of the original team involved in bringing COBOL to the IBM PC Platform in the early 1980's. A graduate of Indiana University's Computer Science Dept., he mastered several programming languages before becoming an expert in COBOL. Howard was first involved in porting COBOL from IBM mainframes to desktop computers while working for Silicon Valley startup, SoloSystems Inc., and later spent 12 years at Micro Focus.
He currently runs his own consulting company, Hinman Consulting Corporation, based in Bloomington, IN.
