Pearly white beaches
beyond which lies
turquoise waters
beneath sunny skies
seagulls fly high above
this is our island
where we live and love
Lustrous green forest
of pine are seen
a picture of thick cluster of evergreen
numerous are the lakes
and ponds
there the crabs and fishes spawn
During the night
when darkness falls
black crabs, white crabs
begin to crawl
grown-ups, children all alike
are seen in the distance
with torches alight
When the crabs are caught
and clipped
they are taken to the mail boat
to be shipped
to Nassau they will go
on Porters Cay dock
they will be sold
Fishermen out
in dinghy boats
trying to get some
fish and conch
this is how they earn their daily bread
to ensure their families
are clothed and fed
On our beautiful isle where
cool breezes blow
off our beautiful shores where
turquoise waters flow
azure skies from which the sun brightly shines
there is seldom ever winter
because of warm sunshine.
