About the Author
Jack E. Fryar, Jr. is a native of Wilmington, N.C. He is the author or editor of six other books about the history of North Carolina. He has served as a game announcer for the Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He has served in the U.S. Marine Corp, and as a part-time radio announcer. Jack Fryar founded the Writer's Roundtable writer's conference at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and has been writing and publishing professionally since 1995.
