Evora has always been a 'mover and a shaker.' If there was something that needed to be fixed, she would find a way to fix it. She was the first women elected a Selectman in Casco, Maine and the first Maine women to become a Dedimus Justice, appointed for life. She was working as an Office Manager when her son started school and had a teacher who didn't like little boys. Evora didn't know if she could teach but she knew she loved children. She quit her job and at age 30 enrolled in what became the University of Southern Maine. Evora taught Jr. High School U.S. History for 21 years. When one of Evora's 10 year old students told her that she had been raped, Evora trained in Crisis Intervention and became the first Director of the 3rd Rape Council in Maine. From this experience Evora knew she needed to be an Elementary School Counselor and went back to College in her 50's. She co-wrote a Personal Safety Program and presented it at the late Pres. Eisenhower's People to People Program, "The First Russian, United States Conference on Education" in Moscow, Russia. While she was in Moscow she trained the Minister of Education's staff on "How to Counsel Abused Children." She received the gold medal for her presentation. Her books are based on her true life experiences, combined with mystery and murders.
