My eyes are dark, black, expressionless.
They just stare at their mirrored image. My eyes do that. Whenever I see a mirror, they don't really look at the rest of me, they just hone in on their cold, blank, expressionless selves. It's like I think that if I could just see my eyes I could see exactly what I am thinking. But my eyes are opaque, not transparent. They don't shine or glimmer and they don't cry.
Chemille Green has a story to tell. It s a story about a thirteen-year-old girl living with social anxiety disorder and the challenges she faces. As you peer into the life of Chemille, you may, at times, feel compassion for her, and perhaps at times, you will not like her, but in the end, you will understand her and what it is like living with a disease that is globally misunderstood.
Although this novel is fiction, it s based on her account of what it s like growing up with SAD.
This novel was written, in its entirety, by a thirteen-year-old girl. The publisher has elected to leave it as it was written, with the exception of spelling errors and some grammatical changes.
