About the Author
The author has been around trains throughout the U.S., including the steam locomotive powered trains of the People's Republic of China. Presently living near the famous Tehahcapi Loop and being a member of several organizations concerned with trains, has allowed Tom McDannold to write a book that helps the beginner get started while providing new information to the seasoned rail fan.
