Nature has made everything perfect and beautiful: especially in Springtime when it shares with us new, fresh and vigorous colors: such a powerful marvel, which reminds us of that extraordinary element of life and death. The leading character of this Novel goes out in search of the splendor of such a beauty, in order to seize its enchantment and enlighten her productive life. Indeed, anything that comes her way, she captures with a good shimmer of emotion: with great power to express her sentimental and personal ambitions. There is no mystery in her art and in her work; and, like her parents and her aunt, she thrives to achieve success and greatness for the good of Society. She responds to Nature with formal dimension of her heart; and continues to bolder and exalt such a joyful and dazzling beauty. Her interest covers an outstanding range of recognized qualities. All this is a challenge to herself, strong enough for the purpose to meet someone she could share a happy life with; and enjoy it to the fullest. Indeed, some of us are stimulated far from perfection, pushed by jealousy, by revenge, by greed, by senselessness. Some of us give in to the raging fury of emotion. At times we can be suddenly struck by painful blows which cause a sad good-bye to life, to love and to hope. Yet, it is useless to languish against sorrow and against pain for a long time. We must resign ourselves and try to resume a productive life. The love one is now suffering, will find in itself proper reward in a future joy. Nature dies and rises again every Springtime!...

Sometimes it seems that life unfolds in chapters. For Guido Farina, this truth is both literal and figurative. In 1995, when a second heart attack found him at Cape Cod hospital fighting for his life, he wondered how the next chapter of his life would unfold. While contemplating his life-long desire to be a writer, he remembered the words of his grandfather: "If you think you want to do something, you better get going because you don't know how long you have in this world. This world is beautiful; and you could make it a little bit better. The knowledge you have acquired through hard work will allow you to make a difference. Remember: even the smallest drop of water leaves its mark." Guido was born in Gallinaro, the province of Frosinone, Italy, near the famous abbey of Montecassino, located between Rome and Naples. As a young boy he survived many months of shelling and bombing in 1943-44, during the devastating battles fought on the land around Montecassino. He grew up on a farm and was fascinated watching Nature evolving and making everything beautiful during the changing seasons. He loved growing things. He frequented his secondary years of study in Italy in private education. Guido also studied music and became an excellent accordionist. It is his joy making people happy. At the age of 20, he joined his father in the United States, who had emigrated after World War I. The family lived in Newton, Massachusetts. In 1956, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in California and in Germany. During most of his time he served as an interpreter, as a translator and as a performing accordionist in the Special Service. While in Germay he met his wife, Elfriede, and in 1960 he returned to Schweinfurt to marry her. Guido continued his education in the United States, graduating from Coyne Electrtic and Technical School, Beacon College and Boston State College. He worked for Raytheon for 22 years and excelled as a Bilingual Teacher in the Newton, MA public Schools. The association of both cultures, his learning experiences, technical achievement, and knowledge of many languages have inspired him to write and express himself with spirited enthusiasm. His true world is one of beauty and fantasy. He gives a splendid touch to his writing which evokes and heightens the deep feeling of the sweeping fervor of his Novel. Retired and living on Cape Cod with his wife Elfriede, Guido dedicates his time to music, gardening and writing.
