Prologue

When you take dance lessons you may discover another way to do the tango that feels much more comfortable for you. In the beginning, your instructor teaches you different steps. It's awkward at first, but once you have practiced, the wonderful music moves you and your body feels good. When your dance partner is also comfortable and confident in the steps, you move together with strength - the passion is felt independently yet, together, it's beautiful to watch.

When you start a new exercise program, your body is stretched in different ways and you release stress from many places. You work your muscles, build your heart rate and in time, the workout is an important part of your life. Your body starts to feel and look more attractive.

When you find a healthy and compatible way of eating, it not only makes you feel satisfied but the joy you take in your meals makes you feel good. Your health is cared for on many levels when you eat well; looking great is a bonus. Your clothes fit better and your skin and hair are healthy.

The emotional body, your spirit, needs attention, too. My formulas, that consist of a daily practice, can help you connect to this important relationship with yourself and commit to a healthy body and spirit. They will also help you become more authentic and attractive.

My clients are put on a four-week program. They commit to four sessions, one week apart, and I am on call for them during this time---guiding them when their changed perception and new way of being feel uncomfortable and they need to be inspired to remember how to feel good again. The formulas and the practice I teach help my clients to reprogram themselves. It's no different than changing your eating habits, your exercise program, or committing to any course in life. The partnership is between you and the concept. The miracle lies in the change of perception or in the confirmation that the new technique or knowledge we have acquired feels right or comfortable. There are times when an instructor, a mentor or a guide can make any change easier.

My one-on-one sessions are very personal and individual, yet I have found that everyone's needs are similar. What makes us different is our behavior and misbehavior, our conscious and unconscious way of living.

We have been conditioned to behave a certain way when we feel uncomfortable. We respond and react without even thinking about it. If you find that you are tired of "wearing" yourself because the life you have attracted is not comfortable, it's because your soul, your emotional body is saying, "I want to do it differently." It's telling you to go "inside".

We can always exercise our free will to make choices; we can change our mind and do something different from the way we were conditioned. The world around us may behave a certain way...it doesn't mean we have to, especially when we realize we no longer feel comfortable.

So when you decided to change your mind, change your behavior, learn a new program and find your way to a better life, it's great to have a guide. I have never wanted anyone to become dependent on me to make them feel good. My desire is to teach people to have their own formulas and tools to find their own peace. These formulas have worked for me. The amazing friends who are my clients have been saying to me for years, "Colleen, I wish you were in my back pocket." That's why I decided to write Pocket Guide to your Heart.

You can read Pocket Guide to your Heart over a weekend and start practicing it immediately. You can carry it with you for a quick reference anytime you need to remind yourself. We only forget long enough to remember. Once you realize that it is entirely up to you to find your way back to peace, take responsibility to find that place each moment. Each day you can inspire others and teach the children that it is all inside us. And, if you forget, you can always open up Pocket Guide to your Heart to remind yourself again...and again...and again... To be authentic and attractive.
