The book also includes copious notes on the tunes, composers and arrangers.

Barry W. Shears is originally from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. A piper for over thirty two years he has spent the past 25 years researching the pipng traditions of Nova Scotia, especially the island of Cape Breton.This has resulted in numerous teaching, lecturing and playing engagements throughout North America and parts of Europe.
