About the Author

Laura Maffei is the founder and editor of the poetry journal American Tanka, which was a print journal from 1996-2008 and is now online at americantanka.com. She was a Michener Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her M.F.A. She directs the Writing Center at a private preparatory school.
