About the Author

As a military separations specialist, Elaine has been writing for military families and speaking at conferences and military installations since 2003. During the creation of her books, Im Already Home...Again and The Road Home, she interviewed over 3200 military families about exactly what they did to keep their families strong during separations, and resilient when reconnecting again. Her work as an active civilian has been featured in Ladies Home Journal, The NY Times, and over 110 other publications including 6 in foreign languages. She s been on radio, national TV (including MSNBC, FOXNews and the Montel Show) to talk about the importance of keeping family ties strong. Elaine is honored to be the recipient of the ABC 7 Everyday Hero award for establishing the free Flat Daddy project.
