Synopsis

About the Author
Joan Drescher's pioneering work, using art to mend both body and spirit, has been recognized internationally. Her healing murals are found in major hospitals throughout the US and Canada. Joan is a writer and illustrator of more than 25 children's books, including "The Moon Balloon-A Journey of Hope and Discovery for Children and Families." This book has helped families in the US and Europe go through change, transition and loss. She explores the vital connection between medicine, art and the healing process in her inspiriting visual presentations.
Joan is the Aritst-in-Residence at MassGeneral Hospital for Children in Boston where she invites young patients to create therir own visual journals and regularly offers workshops and training in the arts to doctors, residents and other healthcare professionals. She is also a Fellow of the Institute for Body, Mind and Spirituality at Lesley University.
