About this title

About the Author

Kevin W. McCarthy is the first to tell you he's an unlikely author. In the late 1980s, this businessman, now business advisor, observed unproductive patterns of thinking and behaviors in clients' lives, work, and businesses that disadvantaged them strategically and competitively. At the core was the absence of a strong sense of self and identity. Kevin set out to help his clients and himself think more clearly and make better decisions. His focus rested on the concept of knowing one's purpose and the alignment of one's life with it. The roots of The On-Purpose® Approach were born.

This lifetime entrepreneur is classically trained in business. The typical track for best-selling authors rarely involves a business career, yet Kevin holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Economics from Lehigh University and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from The Darden School at the University of Virginia. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Shady Side Academy where he was the perennial class president.
