"What we are is God’s gift to us. What we become is our gift to God."
Transforming our lives into a gift worthy of giving back to God, the author says, comes from putting into practice the principles that get us over the hurdles and keep us on track in life. Shelley shares the two acronyms—HIRTL and TRACK—she developed to help her clients remember the life-enhancing concepts of honesty, integrity, respect, trust, love, truth, responsibility, attitude, character, and knowledge.
Shelley illustrates each concept—one for each finger of both hands—with stories from the lives of her clients and from her own experiences, which included childhood sexual abuse, divorce, multiple surgeries, childlessness, cancer, and near-fatal illnesses. Her riveting description of her miraculous healing alone is worth the price of the book.
