Synopsis
This is the ultimate guide book for any lighthouse aficionado. It is also the only book currently in print to feature the two new lighthouses built on the east side of Michigan since 1995. This book includes three different types of directions to find each light, a direct route from nearest major intersection, GPS Waypoints, and a scenic route which follows paved roads around the coastline of Michigan with turn by turn directions. There are two pages devoted to each light. Page one has black and white pictures, history of the light and the directions. Page two lists museums, attractions, points of interest, annual fairs, festivals and events of the areas near the light. Also on page two are contact numbers for the listings on page two. In the center of the book is a full color section of lighthouses on the east side of Michigan. Wrapped around the color section are journaling pages to document your trip and visit to each lighthouse. The index makes it easy and fast to find any listing.

About the Author
Jerry Roach is a well known lighthouse author and photo-journalist. This book is the second in the series called the Ultimate Guides. He is an activist for restoration and preservation of historic lighthouses throughout the country. He donates a portion of each sale of his books to several preservation and restoration organizations. He and his wife Barb are members of several preservation groups such as the Ontonagon County Historical Society, Saginaw River Marine Historical Society, Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association, Crisp Point Light Historical Society. He is also known for his presentations to historical societies, civic groups, and elementary children in Michigan for their Michigan History classes.
