About the Author

F.S. Rosa has lived in San Francisco since the 1970’s and is a rank-and-file member of the S.F. Labor Council, representing SEIU Local 535. In the fall of 2003 she went to the West Bank for six weeks with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). The seeds of the trip were planted years before during her education in local corner grocery stores. In March, 2005, she walked in the 241-mile, 24-day, 75th anniversary of Gandhi’s Salt March from Ahmedabad to Dandi Beach in Gujarat, India, the source for the cover photo of this book.
