About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR A writer, lecturer, minister and practitioner of Religious Science, Ken Spaulding is a member of the Healing ministry in his church in California. Ken was the co-author of SIMPLE I CHING, which sold 20,000 copies. His goal in writing this book was to provide more meaningful guidance to those who look to the I CHING for help. His prose and Haiku provide a calm interpretation of the I CHING, which is badly needed in these times of disharmony and stress.Ken is a published poet and proud of his election to the International Poetry Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Book Publicists of Southern California and the Writers Club.He is listed in WHO S WHO IN CALIFORNIA and has been awarded the Editor s Choice Award of the National Library of Poetry.Ken organized and operated his own successful insurance agency, and with the help of his wife, Lois, coordinated its many activities. His spare time is devoted to reading philosophy and studying the world s religions. ABOUT THE ARTIST Rumored to have been born with a pencil in his hand, Howard Van Heuklyn s extraordinary pencil artwork touches the soul and inspires the imagination. One has the feeling of awe in his interpretation of the I CHING and the beauty expressed with such a simple tool as a pencil and his creative imagination.These sixty-four original drawings were created expressly to help the reader understand and feel the power and serenity of the I CHING. They are based on Howard s personal experiences in Kunming, China during World War II.Howard is a retired Architect with additional research in the history of Chinese Architecture at the Yunan University, Kunming, China. Now his full attention is on his other passion, art.Howard is a respected artist whose unique style, subject matter and medium has gained attention throughout the world. His works are published in The Best of Colored Pencil III. He is an honorary member of the Pasadena Fine Arts Club and a member of the San Gabriel Art Association.
