Tom McWhirter grew up in a small rural community in North Carolina. From as far back as he can remember, he found solace in the "Great Outdoors." His imagination could take him places without any limitations, helping him realize there are no limitations in life but those we place on ourselves. As he grew older, his appreciation and respect for nature became an understanding of hew all of creation is so important to humanity. Even now in his adult years, his work is predominantly outdoors. He appreciates the beauty and gifts of nature as much on the outside, as he does on the inside of his heart. Tom's goal in writing this book is to share this experience with children and adults of All ages, showing a whimsical side of reality in which mere existence can grow into freedom by carrying ourselves with the "Wings of Life."
