"Listening for Wellness" is an introduction to the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis, who discovered that Listening (as opposed to hearing) is the key to Wellness. Listening problems are at the root of many learning and communication problems, and learning how to listen well greatly improves our abilities. It is a "must read" book for parents, teachers, psychologists and musicians. Even though the book is an in-depth presentation of the work of Dr. Tomatis, it is easy to read thanks to the many examples taken from the practice of the author.

Pierre Sollier met Dr. Alfred Tomatis in 1984 and became so fascinated by his work that he decided to study under Dr. Tomatis. In 1991, he opened the Mozart Center in Lafayette, California, treating many children and adults with the Tomatis Method. He is the author of most of the articles published on the tomatis.com website, and he co-translated The Ear and the Voice by Dr. Tomatis. Pierre taught French for 10 years in France, before moving to California. He studied psychology at the J.F. Kennedy University in Orinda, and became a Licensed Family Therapist. Since 2001, he has lived in Oaxaca, Mexico.
This is not a simple introduction, but a masterly presentation of the discoveries of my late husband, Dr. Alfred Tomatis. --Léna Tomatis, widow and collaborator of Dr. Tomatis, private communication
This is an interesting approach to the wide world of potential that lies ahead for parents, students, teachers and musicians. --Don Campbell, musician, lecturer and author of The Mozart Effect, private communication
One could not find a more insightful practitioner and translator of the Tomatis work than Pierre Sollier. --Joshua Leeds, author of "The people of Sound", private communication
