Success coach Julie Fuimano began her quest for self-development in her teens, as many do. She asked herself the same universal questions: ""Who am I?"", ""Why am I here?"", and ""What am I supposed to do with my life?"" After spending years looking outside herself for the answers, she realized that only by looking within to get to know and accept who she is would the answers then be revealed. That was the first step in her journey to self-discovery and acceptance. Inspired to help others create the same meaning in their own lives, she wrote The Journey Called YOU: A Roadmap to Self-Discovery and Acceptance. It teaches the importance of learning how to reveal the essence of who you are so you can more deeply enjoy the unique gifts you have been given.

Self-reflection often becomes more important to people during turbulent times. With the world still reeling from the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster and trying to come to terms with the war in Iraq, universal questions such as "Who am I?" "Why am I here?" and "What am I supposed to do with my life?" are on nearly everyone's minds.
Julie Fuimano, a professional coach, speaker, and writer, has spent her life searching for answers to these questions, and The Journey Called YOU: A Roadmap to Self-Discovery and Acceptance is the culmination of this pursuit for personal truth. "Since my teen years," she says, "I've been on a quest for self-discovery, and what I've learned is that the answers to life's riddles cannot be found through the eyes of another but rather through exploration within." Fuimano goes on to explain that she wrote this book to teach others what she has learned and to empower people to live their lives feeling better about who they are.
The book teaches readers how to access their personal power to create the happiness and fulfillment they seek and deserve. Its theme, "know yourself, accept what is, and honor yourself," focuses on the essence of a person; it emphasizes the "who" of a person rather than the "what." The Journey Called YOU explains how to conduct the self-exploration process. In the end, readers will feel more confident in themselves; they will trust the choices they are making and their ability to create a life they feel good about living.
Fuimano admits that this isn't always easy. No one has all the answers to life's questions, and those that seem to work for one person may not work for someone else. "When I realized that I wouldn't be able to get the answers from outside of me," she says, "I knew I needed to find a way to accept myself as I am and to treat myself with greater respect and compassion. After all, life is a gift and it's up to me to figure out what I was meant to do with that gift."
She hopes this "life instruction manual" will help make the journey easier for readers. To that end, the author has included revealing journaling exercises, inspirational anecdotes, and educational coaching tips.
"We must live our lives as if we are the most important people in it," says Fuimano. "If we honor this, our experience here on earth will be richer than we ever imagined possible."
