Eva Segar learned to cook on her family's farm in Beaufort County, South Carolina, when she was just a child. Now she shares her recipes, and the stories that go with them, in her first cookbook. With beautiful pictures and unusual recipes, the book uniquely captures the lowcountry.
Mrs. Segar's autobiography--Songs to Sing, Stories to Tell: Growing Up Gullah--is in its third printing.

About the Author
Eva Segar was born in 1937 on a farm in Beaufort County, South Carolina. She is a retired nurse. She lives with her husband, Quitman, on a working farm just a stone's throw from her childhood home.
The Segars still produce a great deal of their own food, and Mrs. Segar cooks these fresh ingredients the way her mother and her grandmother taught her.
The Segars have two grown children and ten grandchildren.
