Eva Segar was born in 1937 on a farm in Beaufort County, South Carolina. She is a retired nurse. She lives with her husband, Quitman, on a working farm just a stone's throw from her childhood home.
The Segars still produce a great deal of their own food, and Mrs. Segar cooks these fresh ingredients the way her mother and her grandmother taught her.
The Segars have two grown children and ten grandchildren.
