LIFE BEGINS AND ENDS WITH GIRLFRIENDS, a nonfiction relationship book. The authors share their memories of relationships with friends and family along with highlights from interviews with representative women and girls. The authors were inspired to write the book by their personal and professional experiences and by their mutual friendship. Based upon their life experiences and considerable research, Van Ginkel and Newman concluded that girlfriendships are vitally important to women at all ages. About the Author
Judy Van Ginkel is president of Every Child Succeeds, a home visitation program for first-time, at-risk mothers and their babies at the Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center. The heart of the program is the relationships that develop between the young mothers and their nurse/social worker home visitors the quintessential girl friendships. When she isn t working, Judy enjoys reading and exotic adventure travel. Betsy Kyte Newman is a professional educator, career consultant, and author of three books. Her most recent book, Retiring As A Career, was published in 2003. Newman is an avid traveler, moviegoer, and an enthusiastic amateur artist.
