About the Author

Percy W. Thomas, Sc.D., is the president of Success Behavior Institute in Ellicott City, Maryland. Dr. Thomas is a contributing author of the book Valuing Diversity: New Tools for a New Reality. He has developed and implemented training programs on leadership, success, motivation, achieving excellence, multicultural workforce practice, diversity management, management principles and basic supervisory practices. He has assisted federal agencies, and corporations in strategic planning, organizational development, managing change, and in developing their human resources. He created the Cultural Rapport Process which is a theoretical framework for providing executive coaching, focus group research, qualitative organizational climate assessments, and program evaluations. Dr. Thomas has also conducted extensive research on innercity juvenile gangs. He holds faculty appointments in the internationally recognized Leadership Development Program at Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University's Community College Doctoral Leadership Program, and Sojourner-Douglass College.
