The Happy Factory is a heart-warming account of the astonishing things that happened after a couple began making wooden toys in a shed behind their house in Cedar City, Utah. What began as a hobby after Charles and Donna Cooley retired from Southern Utah University in 1995 has attracted hundreds of volunteers, now working in 24 Happy Factories. So far, more than 400,000 toys have been made and given to needy children around the world. Neither the Cooleys nor any Happy Factory worker makes a dime and the gifting is still gathering momentum.
