"Very funny man. And, a very, very funny book." - Larry King. Las Vegas, Nevada - 1969: Two forces collide that change the entertainment world forever. Elvis Presley is launching a comeback career that reignites Rock 'N' Roll, and stand-up comic Sammy Shore is firing up audiences in breathless anticipation of "The King." What brought these unique talents together, not only in laughter and friendship, but also in the loneliness and insecurity that fame can bring? Sammy Shore reveals it all, as only he can, in this hilariously funny and highly poignant story of his life with Elvis and beyond. You'll eavesdrop on Sammy's intimate talks with Elvis and his detailed conversations with the music and comedy greats of all time. Milton Berle, Sid Caesar and Jan Murray, to name just a few and also be front row center for all the hysterical routines that "killed" or bombed. You'll meet Sammy's son, Pauly Shore, just starting out in showbiz, the enigmatic Col. Parker, "Brother Sam" (Elvis' favorite preacher man) and the crazy cast of characters that formed Sammy's irreverent take on life today. So, join Sammy on his journey through it all - 'the smooth cruisin' and the #$&% potholes of life! Because, he's The Man Who Made Elvis Laugh!

From the Author:

Why I Wrote This Book - I wanted to write this book because at this late stage of my life, I might say something that could help others my age who are now or are about to go through the tough times of getting ready for the final act of one's life.

Being in front of people most of my life and trying to make them laugh was a monumental feat. Each and every time I did it, I never once said, "I'm tired and I don't want to do this anymore. This business is for young people." I say, "BULLSHIT!" Funny is funny at any age.

When I wrote my first book, The Warm-Up, my friends kept asking, "Who needs another book?"

Well, I got it published by one of the biggest publishers in New York-William Morrow.

And when I came up with the idea for another book, my agent said, "Sammy, you're not a household name."

"So, I'll change my name to Clorox!"

Looking back over the Elvis years, I wanted to reflect on the wonderful times I had with him and share some of the inside stories and personal insights that I had with him that were never put into the hundreds of books written about ELVIS!

The times I spent with Elvis were the best years of my life. Celebrity friendships are fleeting. But, this man was special to me. And even though he's not physically around anymore, I celebrate his birthday every year. Thank you, Elvis, for the good times and wonderful memories I'll keep in my heart until I join you. And, that's why I wrote this book-because I'M THE MAN WHO MADE ELVIS LAUGH!
