Chapter: I MURDER
“I thought my heart would stop when I realized what my brother Rick had just said. “Soren has been murdered!”
After a deafening silence on the phone, every muscle in my body tightened into a convulsive spasm of gut-wrenching pain. I couldn’t speak or breathe. Collapsing on the bed, I screamed, “No! No! No!”
Chapter: II ANGER
“My pent-up emotions erupted like a volcano, and the anger boiling inside me exploded into rage. I screamed, shocking even myself. I began beating my fists on the window, on the dashboard of the car and on my own legs. In my entire life I had never experienced such anger.”
Chapter: X FORGIVENESS
“Walking back to my seat from the witness stand, I felt a surge of energy I hadn’t known for nineteen long months. A heavy burden had been lifted from my shoulders. I had come face to face with my brother’s murder, and I had come face to face with forgiveness.”
