Y all vs. Us explores the histories, people, traditions, and memorable events that have created 15 of the greatest high school football rivalries in Mississippi. Each one of the book s 15 chapters details the histories of the two rival schools and then explores how the two schools collided on the gridiron, and how the relationship between the two towns and communities manifest itself through football.

Mike is a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Jackson, Mississippi. While at St. Joe, Mike played halfback for the legendary Coach Bill Raphael. Mike attended Mississippi State University where he was a sprinter on the track team. He began practicing law in 1972 and established a specialized practice in the area of Entertainment and Sports Law. Mike now teaches a similarly styled course at the Mississippi College School of Law. His firm, Frascogna Courtney, remains the only firm in the state with such a specialty. A lifelong high school football enthusiast, Mike has attended every Mississippi high school football championship game since the playoffs were implemented in 1981, and has 14 years of experience coaching youth football. In addition, Mike s articles entitled Something Special for 4th and Short and Building Team Enthusiasm with the APE Defensive Scheme were published in Scholastic Coach magazine and Texas Coach Magazine, respectively. M3 played high school football at Jackson Academy in Jackson, Mississippi, for Coach Sammy Dantone from 1988-1990. He spent his freshman year at Millsaps College before transferring to the University of Notre Dame, where he was a wide receiver and played on special teams for Coach Lou Holtz during the 1992-1995 seasons. M3 coached wide receivers at Millsaps College from 1995-1997 while earning an MBA from the Else School of Management. He also authored the article Speed Training for Combines published in American Football Coach magazine. M3 now practices law as part of the Entertainment and Sports Law division of Frascogna Courtney law firm in its Jackson, Mississippi office. Mike lives in Madison, Mississippi, with his wife Adrienne and their newborn twins, Michael and Parker. Marty played high school football for Coach John McInnis at Jackson Prep in Jackson, Mississippi, from 1994-1996. He was named MPSA Offensive Player of the Year in 1996. Marty played at Millsaps College from 1997-2001 as a defensive back and kick returner for Coach Ron Jurney and Coach Bob Tyler. He was twice named an all-conference player in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. In 2000, Marty s Millsaps team renewed a rivalry with Mississippi College after a 40-year hiatus, playing in front of a crowd that broke the NCAA Division III attendance record. This rivalry is chronicled in the book For Love of the Game by Jim Fraiser. Marty lives in Jackson, Mississippi, with his wife Lesley and is currently a student at Mississippi College School of Law.
