Synopsis
Between 1902 and 1918, Industrialist Andrew Carnegie provided funds for the construction of 66 libraries in the State of Minnesota. Author Kevin Clemens visited and photographed the surviving 48 Carnegie Libraries in the state and has combined these photographs with original period postcards and photographs of the surviving and razed structures and with quotes from city and library officials to create an historical record of Andrew Carnegie s legacy in Minnesota.

About the Author
The history-based adventures of Kevin Clemens, an award-winning journalist and author, have included driving a 1959 Mer- cedes around the world, a Buick through the wilds of South America, and a 1929 Chrysler from Beijing to Paris. He has driven north of the Arctic Circle in the dead of winter, across the searing deserts of China and Mongolia in the heat of summer, through perils in the republics of the former Soviet Union, in 55 foreign countries and all 50 states.
