About the Author

Maggie Hunts decided to leave her job in corporate America after 30 years, to follow her dreams.  Her Jewish mother thought she was nuts: "You did what?!?"  Maggie has won awards from the Women in Film organization for success in the entertainment industry, and for her standup comedy in Los Angeles.  Having lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 20 years, Maggie now uses her comic wit to motivate people to live well and happy with diabetes, singing parodies that include I Love Carbs, My Blood Sugar Kept on Rising Up, and It's Not Impossible.  Maggie opened up for Mary Tyler Moore in New York CIty, when Mary was awarded the "2002 Woman of the Year" by the City of Hope.  An entrepreneur, speaker, and writer, Maggie lives in Houston, TX with Stewart, the love of her life, and their Yorkie-Poo, Zoey.

Review

"Hit's the nail on the head! It's a no-nonsense fun read. Written from the perspective of someone with diabetes, it includes real-life common-sense examples." -Joan Vogel RDCDE (certified diabetes educator and registered dietician).

"Invaluable information combined with humor. You can relate to everything whether you have Type 2 or Type 1" -Kendra B. (Type 2 Mom).

"Reading Maggie's words is like seeing her live on stage. I now understand my dad's diabetes and can see how to help him and not get it myself." -Marcos Najera, KJZZ/NPR.
