Creating Context

Miracles Made Easy describes my explorations into a different kind of everyday reality, and how I came to realize a new personal power.

What caused me to embark upon such a radical journey of self-discovery? You could say I had no choice. A bad case of burnout had sent me to bed for two years and made it impossible to work for two more. My life was a mess. My children were paying the price.

In the early 1980s, a slew of brand new ideas came to my attention. Many seemed strange and far out. I couldn't help noticing how the people espousing these unusual ways of thinking were much happier and more content than anyone I knew. It seemed obvious to me they knew something I didn't, because my life certainly wasn't working well, nor had it been for quite some time. I wanted what they seemed to have - to know more about what they were learning.

That's when I made a commitment that, for the next three months, I would explore as many new ideas as possible and "act as if" all these new ideas were true and actually worked.

Halfway into one of my first Experiments in Living(tm), I realized my life was rapidly, radically changing. While I didn't know where I was going, I definitely knew I wanted to get there. I was led to conclusions that shook my thinking... and they looked promising! It was as if once I had put my foot on this new path, whoosh!, more gifts continued to show up.

Lots of teachers came into my life in rapid succession. Many had long been on the spiritual path. With every meeting and conversation, I learned something new.

In the beginning, and for a long time after, much seemed foreign, even weird. I had difficulty fully grasping many of the new concepts to which I was being exposed. What mattered, however, were the results. Much of this new thinking stuck. Over time, clearer explanations and better understandings evolved. Now, many years later, I am living proof that these ideas can have a tremendous constructive impact. It's my hope and intention that you have a similarly powerful, positive experience.
