Synopsis

Simply Put! A Message To Young Black Brothers In The "Free World" And To Those Who Are Incarcerated Years ago, when Kareem began serving his prison sentence of 45 years, in a maximum security penitentiary, he knew as a 19-year-old black male that being behind steel doors and concrete walls was not the place he wanted to spend his life. This is where the government sends people like mob bosses, gang chiefs, extortionists, crooked CIA officials, and the like. He felt that cages were designed for untamed animals. Even though an animal can be "domesticated" or "tamed" to do as its master demands, we are not animals, but gods who at times stray from the path of doing what's right; only to embrace what's wrong. We can be rehabilitated to rethink destructive thoughts and behaviors. With rehabilitation, there is no reason for any criminal to continue being a thug or killer, after learning the importance of exercising common sense. Kareem encourages young men who are incarcerated to use prison as a college where they can cash in, learning from mistakes and bad choices, which is the purpose of this book, Simply Put. This book encourages young men to stop, think and change their lives to contribute to families and communities in a positive way. Still, he feels that young black males should exercise common sense by doing the right things to never step inside a prison. He wants young brothers to know they are great. The thing is, will they buckle down long enough to think and allow this greatness to come forth? "
