Compassion Fatigue is secondary traumatic stress and is pervasive among professional and family caregivers. It is physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual exhaustion that can result from absorbing and internalizing the pain and suffering of the people you care for. It can also be triggered from constant exposure to the sounds and images of suffering or trauma, or the threats of war and terrorism.
Transform Compassion Fatigue: How to Use Movement and Breath to Change Your Life is your guide to specific, real-life solutions to address Compassion Fatigue. The first half of the book addresses how secondary trauma is absorbed and internalized into the body and mind, leaving you exhausted, burned out and depressed. The second half of the book introduces, explains and illustrates the practice of FlowMotion(TM). Based on Qigong, an ancient Chinese martial art used to harmonize breath, energy and movement, FlowMotion(TM) provides real and immediate relief from the exhaustion of compassion fatigue so that you feel better now.
