About the Author

Susan F. Beegel is Editor of The Hemingway Review and an Associate Professor of English for the University of Idaho. She lived for twenty years on Nantucket, where she served on the boards of the Nantucket Atheneum and the Maria Mitchell Association. Beegel holds a Ph.D. in English from Yale, and has articles on various aspects of 19th and 20th century American literature and history. Her current home is in Phippsburg, Maine.
