About the Author

Baker Fore grew up in Georgia, the son of a Baptist preacher. In the 1960s, he discovered a passion for flying and while working and going to college full time, he moonlighted at the local airport scrubbing planes and patching runways to earn extra money for flying lessons.

As soon as he could, he hired on to fly for the Georgia Forest Service. In a terrifying crash, Fore sustained injuries that took his flying career out of his hands. But his passion for extreme living continued.

After medical school and a stint in the Air Force, he opened a hospital in rural New Mexico. This was where he learned the scret of life sucks and began to take advantage of the lessions learned on that infamous hunting trip.

In the 80s, he moved to Oklahoma where he created health care clinics that allowed patients to be seen without an appointment for non-emergency injuries. By the time he sold this enterprise there were several locations throughout Oklahoma City.

He returned to work in the Emergency room. But the entrepreneurial bug bit again so he opened a Wellness Center in Ardmore in 1996 and a few years later sold it to a major hospital conglomerate. By the new millennium, he had developed and opened Oklahoma's first pain management clinic, a much needed resource for the surprisingly large population living with chronic pain, a condition Fore was intimately familiar with.

Dr. Fore and his wife Meghann live on several wooded acres near the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma where they raise longhorn cattle and enjoy time with children and grandchildren. He hosts Housecalls, a one minute daily radio health care segment, and writes a monthly column for an entertainment magazine The Enterainer.

Though grudgingly approaching retirement age, Fore is still making plans for future enterprises. In addition to promoting LIFE SUCKS so get rich, he is co-authoring The Shovel with Tom Massey, author of the ABC's of... series, and has already begun several other books of his own.
