Review:
I've been a pal of Lester's since just prior to the invention of the wheel, so I can bear eyewitness testimony as to the veracity of many of the events he recounts in his book. And what a joy it has been to relive them through his hilarious pages! But,there's great depth here, as well. Since the very inception of show business both laughter and tragedy, side by side, have been its symbol. And under the surface of every side-splitting tale Lester tells is that ever present poignant layer of sadness. It's a hell of a read! And when Hollywood makes a movie of this book, I suggest they cast Lester Colodny as his own worst enemy! --Marty Brill, The New Dick Van Dyke Show, All in the Family, Three's Company
What fun! A Funny Thing Happened delivers laughs in every chapter and smiles to spare. Thank you, Lester, for preserving these hilarious stories. My only disappointment was when there was no more to read! --Josh Judge, author, Weather Facts and Fun, Extreme New England Weather (Coming November, 2010)
What's more fun than a barrel full of monkeys? Read Lester Colodny's A Funny Thing Happened, and you'll start finding out from the very first chapter. Along the way, you'll get to know some of the brightest stars in the comedy heavens, including the author himself. --Richard Lederer, former NPR host and author of Anguished English
