About the Author

Bela Fidel was born in Brazil and lived in Israel for 9 years, where she graduated from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She pursued the study of art and painting seriously upon returning to Brazil and continues to this day. She has been painting in Encaustics for 11 years and teaching it for 7. She is equally passionate about animals their rights and welfare. Bela Fidel lives with her husband (writer, lyricist, poet and entrepreneur), two cats and one dog.

I love the information and how you approached the set up of this wonderful booklet. This "Essential Encaustics" information will save me a lot of research time. I've been searching for just such a vehicle and it is not easily available anywhere else in such a concise format. This is a short but sweet booklet as opposed to a full size paperback, and when you look inside, it does clearly say this. If you are an experienced artist wanting to work this medium, it offers you a quick, concise study. Although concise, it is  full of very useful details  If you are new to encaustic, you may prefer to purchase this along with Bela Fidel's "Three-Steps Encaustic Adventure" on  DVD. (She's a skillful instructor). You can find it at belafidelfineart.com or encausticpaintingworkshops.com.

You do not need to wade through paragraphs of prose or to pay the bigger bucks for a large book that may be nice to read, but takes up precious time that you could be using to create your artwork. It helps you get right down to business.  This booklet is heavy on important information and physically light enough to tuck into a tote or purse. It is a very practical resource, especially for the modest price.
