About the Author:

Leila Grandemange is a freelance writer, poet, and the author of several charming books. She is a member of the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) and winner of the 2013 prestigious AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Public Service Award. Her articles and poetry have also received DWAA Special Award Nomination Certificates for the Adoptashelter.com Adopt a Homeless Dog Award, and the James Colasanti, Jr.Poetry Award. In 2014 and 2015 the DWAA presented Leila with Certificates of Nomination for excellence in the writing competition category of books. Leila writes for dog related publications such as The Royal Spaniels and the CKCSC USA National Bulletin. Her writing projects touch on the incredible human-canine bond and its connection to God, responsible dog ownership, and life-lessons learned from her dogs. 

Previously a professional ballet dancer and teacher, Leila now enjoys numerous activities with her dogs including conformation dog shows, freestyle, and pet therapy. She establishedGrandville Cavaliers in 2002 and is recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit. Leila has a BA in Christian Education and a teaching degree in classical ballet.
