This book is intended for practitioners already versed in Tung style acupuncture. It give readers rapid access to information on point by point indications, effective combinations, needle depth, duration, and insertion method. A second set of tables sorts by point number and correlates pinyin name, English name, indications, and insertion depth. There are approximately 500 points in all, most being situated on the limbs. This fashion of distal needling along with contra-lateral needling provides immediate confirmation of treatment efficacy. As the Tung family system incorporates micro-acupuncture techniques (where several drops of blood are let from a point) along with regular needling methods of acupuncture, a review of this technique is covered as well.
