Synopsis

A parenting text for incarcerated parents who are committed to remaining involved with their children and willing to accept the responsibilities associated with parenting from a distance. 95% of all incarcerated adults return to their families and communities. They need and deserve the right to learn parenting skills and to reach out to their children from inside prison unless they have been banned contact by the court system.

From the Author

I wrote the first edition of this book while teaching female felons inside the Washington Corrections Center for Women. The ten chapters are designed to fit a standard teaching quarter in prisons where colleges provide education. When I transferred to teach inside an adult male prison, I found the men were equally anxious to receive this information. Incarcerated parents want to learn how to interact with their children. They want to be positive participants in their children's lives. You may also be interested in these related books:AN INMATE'S DAUGHTER - Fiction for children 9 years and above.
