Colleen J. Miniuk is an award-winning author, photographer, speaker, and outdoor educator specializing in nature, landscape, and wildflower photography across the American Southwest and national parks. Her work focuses on helping photographers, hikers, and nature lovers learn how to see, connect with, and make photographs about the natural world with greater intention, confidence, and creative freedom.
She is the author of Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers, a comprehensive field guide to locating, identifying, and photographing desert and mountain wildflower blooms across Arizona. She is also the author of Photographing Acadia National Park: The Essential Guide to When, Where, and How, the adventure memoir So Said the River, and the exhibition catalogue The Current Flows.
Miniuk is a three-time Artist-in-Residence with Acadia National Park, where her immersive fieldwork helped shape her approach to teaching photography in natural environments, including the real-world techniques and storytelling featured throughout her instructional writing.
Her photography and writing have appeared in Arizona Highways, National Geographic calendars, AAA Via, National Parks Traveler, and other national publications.
She leads photography workshops, wildflower-focused field experiences, women’s photography retreats (“Sheography™”), webinars, and portfolio critique sessions for individuals, organizations, and camera clubs across the United States. She also writes the online photography advice column “Dear Bubbles.”
